SMARTMOVE REMOVALS COVID-19 STATEMENT

We have been carefully observing the development of the spread, Government advice and information and media surrounding the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

To protect our staff, clients and other contacts we would like to issue the following advice; 

We have ceased all removals for the time being. This includes those booked and appointed a moving date.

This is to protect staff and customers during these unprecedented times. It is not possible to safely conduct a removal and keep a safe distance of 2-metres. We hope that customers understand.

Unfortunately, there will be some removal companies in the North East that will not survive the economic situation. We would like to assure current and future customers that we have sufficient resources to continue trading, regardless of the length of the “lockdown”.

However, we anticipate, with fewer removal companies in the North East UK and with a backlog of removals to be completed once the “lockdown” is over that the demand for our services will be at an all-time high. We will prioritise future moving dates as follows:

  1. Those customers who have booked a removal date which has had to be postponed because of the lockdown.
  2. Customers who have booked with us during the “lockdown” without a confirmed moving date. These being customers that know they will be moving shortly after the lockdown is over.
  3. New bookings made after the “lockdown” and guidance on movement have been relaxed.

If you have an existing booking please email us for further information and guidance.

If you are in the process of buying or selling a property we STRONGLY SUGGEST you make a “no confirmed date” booking for your removal, before the “lockdown” is relaxed. We can conduct a survey of your property and supply an accurate quote for removals without visiting your premises.

Once the “lockdown” is relaxed, we will take enquiries for new bookings, however, they will be prioritised behind existing customers and those that have a “no confirmed date” booking.
